My name is Yuli and I am a part time wedding photographer. I’ve been taking photographs since I was ten years old and my father first put a camera in my hand. I was first drawn to wedding photography to capture the raw and beautiful emotions that are on display on these special days.
My approach is to use a photojournalistic style to tell the story of your wedding in pictures. This documentary approach allows me to render the images intimate and personal, capturing the details and the brightness to create an album that will really reflect the joy and the individual moments of the day. This approach is also very non-invasive. Whilst I may provide guidance or structure for the odd shot that will be quickly taken, most of the photographs will be taken without you having to look up from your beautiful day. I simply observe and photograph moments as they unfold. You will then receive an album that properly reflects the magic, with truthful and realistic pictures, capturing the actual emotions and atmosphere of the day.
HOW I GOT INTO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
I was lucky enough to have a father who is an incredible artist and when I was a child he taught me all the basics of photography, how light can affect mood and how to wait for the perfect shot. With his guidance, I took portraits of every single family member, including pets.
Portrait photography can take many different directions, and I could have specialised in a number of different forms. Whilst still specialising, I travelled around the world with my camera, taking shots of people from numerous cultures and places. Finally, a friend asked me to photograph his wedding and it was on that day that I found my true passion. The ability to capture the honest and beautiful emotions of his special day was one of the most rewarding I had ever experienced. Since then I haven’t looked back, determined that my photography will follow this path.
MORE ABOUT ME
I have a part time job as a company manager, that is less seasonal than wedding photography. Running my own business has helped me to grow as a person and shown me all the ways in which I need to work to make my own ventures successful. I am applying these skills to my developing wedding photography business and I will soon have two thriving businesses.
